So you want to work in a museum…

Over 9 million people visited the Louvre in 2019 and with more than 35,000 works of art throughout the museum it would take you over 100 days to every piece if you were to spend just 30 seconds at each.

Do you dream of visiting museums all over the world like the Louvre, Tate Modern, the National Palace Museum, or others? Maybe you dream of visiting and working in museums like the MET, National Gallery of Art or the Museum of Modern Art.

Did you know you can start right here on campus?

The Binghamton University Art Museum (BUAM), located on campus in the Fine Arts building, has a permanent collection of over 4,000 objects including paintings, sculptures and decorative arts from around the world.

In addition to viewing the collections remotely or while on campus, BUAM also provides internship opportunities each semester for students interested in gaining experience in various areas including collections, engagement and outreach, graphic design, social media, and more!
