Alumni Feature: Bradley Choy ’19

Bradley Choy received his Bachelors in Computer Science in 2019 after enrolling in Binghamton University as a transfer student.  He is currently a Cyber Security Consultant at KPMG. 

What activities and clubs/organizations did you participate in at Binghamton? 

  • Big Bear Ultimate Frisbee, 
  • Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, 
  • Intramural sports, 
  • HackBU

Did you do an internship(s)? 

I completed a SQL Development for my local county government.

How did your experience at Binghamton help prepare you for your first position after graduation? 

I learned how to work and collaborate with others which really helped me succeed in the workplace.

For a career in your field, what skills do you think are most important right now?

Problem solving and communication skills.

What would you look for if you were in a position to hire new graduates for your company? 

I would look for someone that does things outside of their major, like clubs and extracurriculars, as it shows their willingness to try new things.

If you could do college all over again, what would you add to your college experience? 

I would participate in more clubs and activities.

What is one thing you think a student can do before senior year to be ready for the job search? 

I think that students should update profiles where employers can potentially find you, (I.e Instagram, Github, Facebook, Linkedin etc…)

What is the best piece of career advice you would give to current students?

Put yourself out there…you never know if you don’t try!
