Engineering Opportunities With DEC

The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is actively seeking qualified applicants for engineering positions throughout New York State.

DEC Engineers are assigned to work in a major segment of an environmental quality program, including wastewater disposal, solid waste disposal, water pollution control, air pollution control, pollution prevention, hazardous waste remediation, hazardous substances regulation, and/or spill prevention, response, and remediation.

These positions (including Engineer Trainee, Assistant Engineer, and Professional Engineer 1) are filled through Civil Service eligible lists.

Qualified applicants are added to these lists upon completion of an online examination.

Applications for the online examination are accepted continuously.
