Networking Opportunities On Campus

The Binghamton University campus is like a small city, and there are over 1,000 campus employees who perform the necessary functions to keep it operational–including a series of professionals with Science and Healthcare-related focuses! Certain offices have functions related to Science and Healthcare, and as such they offer opportunities to learn more about your industry of interest and connect with professionals who have careers you are interested in.   1. Athletics Department

The Binghamton University Athletics department has many employees with a variety of different functions, from coaching, marketing, assisting with academics, and also providing medical care for the athletes. Sports medicine is a growing field that caters to the unique medical needs of athletes, and it allows students to combine their interests in sports and healthcare.   1. Health Promotion and Prevention

The Office of Health Promotion and Prevention hosts a variety of programs designed to promote student heath, including interpersonal violence prevention, mental health resources, health education, and more. These initiatives involve identifying the health needs of our student body and designing programs to serve them. Students interested in public health and health education can find professionals in this office with related careers.

  1. Decker Student Health Services Center

The Decker Student Health Services Center is Binghamton University’s on-campus health center. The medical professionals in this office support student health and wellness through caring for illness and injury, providing health education, administering testing and vaccines, and providing women’s health services. Those interested in healthcare professions and medical school can learn a lot from the medical professionals at this office!

  1. Environmental Health and Safety

The Office of Environmental Health and Safety is the perfect place for students interested in environmental science to explore career paths! This office has a broad range of responsibilities, including the protection and conservation of campus natural resources, evaluation and creation of environmental policy, and promotion of biosafety. There are a wide variety of professionals who work in this office, some who deal with policy and others who are directly in the field doing testing and conservation work.
