Typically, art therapists are licensed as psychologists, counselors or therapists and use varying mediums of art based on their specialties and preferences with their clients. An art therapist will help patients choose forms of art that best suits them and work with the client to express themselves through their art. When a patient finishes a piece of art, an art therapist will usually discuss the piece and what it means with the patient. Additional information about art therapy can be found here.
