Fostering Change for Children recently announced that their Summer 2023 Children’s Corps application is now live and accepting submissions!!

Accepted members are trained in July and then begin a two-year full-time paid position with a child welfare agency in one of the five boroughs of New York City on August 1. The application can be found online along with an abundance of other information about the process.  Binghamton University students can also apply through Handshake.  This opportunity is open to anyone who will have a BA or MSW by July 4, 2023. Please submit your application by Jan 22 to be considered for round 1 interviews.

The Children’s Corps program aims to make a difference in the lives of children and families impacted by the child welfare system. They do this by linking interested candidates with full time employment in Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and Westchester. Children’s Corps partners with child welfare organizations where members work as foster care and prevention workers through a two-year placement at their agency. These jobs are full-time salaried positions with comprehensive benefits.

The available positions at Children’s Corps Class of 2023 partner agencies include:

  • Foster Care Case Planner (BA degree)
  • Therapeutic Foster Care Socio-Therapist (BA degree)
  • Preventive Evidence-Based Case Manager (BA degree)

All positions entail providing support and managing services for families to ensure children’s safety, permanency, and well-being. No prior experience is required! Successful Children’s Corps members are non judgmental, patient with themselves and others, and persistent in their support of children and families.
