International Student Career Success Week: September 9 -13, 2024

This Monday, September 9, marks the start of Binghamton’s Fall 2024 International Student Career Success Week. During this week international students will have the chance to attend workshops focused on the how-to’s of the U.S. job search. More than that, these workshops will offer students a chance to mingle and network with fellow international students and alumni. How to Get your CPT ASAP

Monday, Sept. 9 I Noon I UU-133A

First up, on Monday, September 9, is a CPT (Curricular Practical Training) workshop led by a professional staff from International Student and Scholar Services. CPT is an off-campus employment authorization for international students in F-1 status. This step is crucial for those considering an internship in the upcoming semesters and is highly recommended to all international students.

Crafting AI Enhanced Resumes and Cover Letters

Tuesday, Sept. 10 I Noon I UU-133A and Zoom

The second workshop will be on Tuesday, September 10 with Ozzy Girit Heck from the Fleishman Center presenting on the very popular topic of using AI to analyze job descriptions, highlight your strengths, and customize your application materials to fit the perfect job. Learn practical tips and techniques to leverage AI tools, ensuring your resume and cover letter make a lasting impression on employers.

Thursday, Sept. 12 I Noon I UU-133A and Zoom

Stacey Brown from Watson Career and Alumni Connections (WCAC) will kick off the third workshop on how to elevate your professional etiquette. International Student Career and Success Week will be rounded out on Friday, September 13, with an engaging international alumni panel featuring four accomplished alumni who will share insights about their current roles, job search journeys, and the experiences that paved their way to success. Hear firsthand accounts of the strategies they used, the challenges they faced, and the pivotal moments that helped them secure their positions. This panel is a unique opportunity to gain valuable advice and inspiration from alumni who have navigated the global job market and achieved career success.
