What is GLAD Law?

GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) is a nonprofit legal organization based in Boston that is committed to advancing justice for LGBTQ+ individuals and people living with HIV through litigation, public policy advocacy, and public education. Communications & Public Education Intern (Summer 2025)

βœ… Major Tasks:

  •     Represent GLAD Law at outreach events (Pride celebrations, panels, etc.)
  •     Assist with event logistics, blog posts, and social media content
  •     Update Know Your Rights materials and support GLAD Answers helpline
  •     Perform administrative tasks and data entry

🎯 Key Skills:

  •     Strong writing, research, and communication skills
  •     Public speaking or outreach experience preferred
  •     Organizational skills and ability to work independently

🌍 Location: Hybrid or in-person

πŸ’° Compensation: Stipend up to $3,000

Graphic Design & Multimedia Intern (Summer 2025)

βœ… Major Tasks:

  •     Design visuals for GLAD Law’s website, blog, and social media
  •     Create infographics, GIFs, flyers, posters, and fact sheets
  •     Edit videos and assist with publication layout

🎯 Key Skills:

  •     Proficiency in Photoshop, Canva, or similar tools
  •     Experience with InDesign, Illustrator, or video editing software preferred
  •     Interest in visual storytelling for social justice causes

🌍 Location: Remote or hybrid

Legal Intern (Summer 2025, Fall & Spring terms available)

βœ… Major Tasks:

  •     Conduct legal research and writing to support litigation
  •     Assist with public policy advocacy and legal education efforts
  •     Attend legal department meetings and collaborate with attorneys

🎯 Key Skills:

  •     Strong legal research and writing abilities
  •     Passion for LGBTQ+ and HIV+ rights, racial and economic justice
  •     Open to 2L and 3L law students

🌍 Location: Summer (in-person), Fall/Spring (hybrid)

Special Events & Fundraising Intern (Spring & Summer 2025)

βœ… Major Tasks:

  •     Assist with event planning and logistics for donor receptions and fundraisers
  •     Conduct sponsor/donor outreach and maintain donor databases
  •     Coordinate volunteers and manage silent auction logistics

🎯 Key Skills:

  •     Interest in nonprofit fundraising and event planning
  •     Strong organizational and communication skills
  •     Ability to work independently and in a team

🌍 Location: Hybrid (in-office hours required)
