New Interstride Feature: Discover Network

You can easily connect with alumni, fellow students, and staff through Interstride’s Discover Network. Whether you are a domestic student or an international student at Binghamton University, you can easily discover alumni based on where they live (country, city), where they are employed, their major, degree type, and graduation year and send them a private message. In addition to that, with Interstride’s new feature, users can directly connect their LinkedIn profile to their Interstride account and view other students’ and alumni’s LinkedIn profiles.

Say you want to connect with an alumnus who lives in Japan to be more informed about living and working there before moving, you can easily filter for country and see a list of alumni living there and contact them. Or, perhaps as an international student you want to connect with international alumni who have successfully found employment in your field. You can filter your alumni search to major or employer and than check out their experiences on their LinkedIn profile. You can also directly message them on Interstride or through LinkedIn.

Interstride is free to all students and you can search for jobs and internships both in the United States as well as abroad. Interstride also offers “Country Insights” if you are interested in relocating to another country; this comprehensive guide has information on visas and work permits, housing, healthcare, education, working and living, etc. For international students looking for employment in the U.S. you can also review “U.S. Visa Insights” and filter to find the top entry level hires who have petitioned for sponsorships in the past. You can also filter these employers based on whether they are H1-B hires or have sponsored in the past, location, type of industry, job title, and experience level.

Check out Interstride, if you haven’t already and start building your network and look for work opportunities around the world. Download Interstride’s H1B Sponsorship Finder, which is a is free Chrome extension that shows companies sponsoring H-1B visas on popular job boards like LinkedIn, Google Careers, Indeed, and Glassdoor.
