There are some exciting on-campus opportunities right now for students interested in Creative Arts, Media, and Marketing! These experiences are a great way to build skills, explore your interests, and connect with the campus community.

Info session for the 2026 Summer Scholars and Artists Program (SSAP)

Do you have a creative activity or research project that would benefit from time, money, and mentorship to pursue it? Then considering attending the upcoming information session to learn more about the Summer Scholars and Artists Program (SSAP) and hear from undergraduate students who have participated.

The info session takes place from 3:30-4:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, in FA 212. Students can RSVP on B-Engaged at the link below.

SSAP provides awardees with a $3,500 stipend and the option to receive free on-campus housing for eight weeks. Mentors receive a $1,000 stipend. The deadline to apply is Monday, Feb. 23.

Apply to be a Civil Dialogue Ambassador

The Center for Civic Engagement is seeking two Civil Dialogue Ambassadors for the spring semester to help foster respectful and meaningful conversations on campus through the Civil Dialogue Project. Ambassadors will receive training in dialogue facilitation, plan and host events, conduct outreach and collaborate with campus partners while maintaining a nonpartisan stance. The position requires a commitment of about 5 hours per week and offers 2 academic credits through the Fleishman Career Center’s CDCI 395 course (unpaid). Interested students can apply by submitting a resume and cover letter via hireBING or emailing cce@binghamton.edu with “Civil Dialogue Ambassador” in the subject line. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Call for entries: Art of Science Competition

The Office of Research Advancement invites entries from Binghamton students, postdocs, faculty and staff members for Binghamton’s 10th annual Art of Science competition. Images will be judged in two categories: The World Around Us, for images in which the subject is visible to the naked eye; and Visualizing the Unseen, for images captured with the use of optics that extend beyond what the eye can see, such as microscopes and telescopes. The top prize will be a $300 Best Buy gift card!

Entries for 2026 should have been created no earlier than 2023. The submission deadline is Feb. 13, 2026.
