Welcome to the Fleishman Career Center faculty & staff community page!

The Fleishman Career Center is committed to collaborating with faculty and staff to integrate career education into existing curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular experiences throughout campus. Fleishman Career Center staff are available to facilitate tailored career workshops and presentations for your classroom or student group, integrate career education assignments and activities into new or existing curriculum, partner on special career events, projects or programs, and more.

The community page is designed to provide you with the tools, resources, and insights needed to empower you to have meaningful career conversations with your students.

The Career Collaborative

To scale career education to reach all students.

Equity is our focus. College is a pivotal time for exploration, building confidence and skills, and preparing for the future. Many students pursue higher education to improve career mobility, which can lead to better employment opportunities and increased earning potential for themselves and their families. Academic and staff professionals in higher education play an integral role in closing the career mobility gap for students, and for minoritized and first generation college students in particular, who may have limited social capital and lack clarity around setting goals. By intentionally integrating career education in the classroom and throughout the student experience, we can address structural barriers to students’ access to career knowledge, skills and opportunities.

By clearly linking classroom/programming content and outcomes to the world of work, you will help students bridge their academic and campus experiences to their career interests, which creates more engaged and motivated students!

The Classroom to Career Fellows Program provides an opportunity for faculty and Fleishman Career Center staff to co-create transparent and intentionally designed career education opportunities based on faculty goals and student needs within an existing course/curriculum. Fellows and Fleishman staff work together to define how integrating career education into the curriculum will support professional teaching, course outcomes and student engagement in a supportive cohort environment.
