Job Analysis & Exploration Assignment

Students search for and identify their ideal (future) job and then analyze the job description to assess their interest in the role and the skills they currently have and those they still need to develop.  

Every Fleishman Career Center assignment/activity can be used in the classroom, as homework, or during a program/event. These assignments and activities can be fully customized to fit your needs. 

Learning Objectives

  • Students will explore job boards and identify a job that interests them.
  • Students will analyze the job description and identify skills, experience, and interest the employer is looking for.
  • Students will assess the skills and experience the currently possess along with areas in which they will need additional growth.

Recommended Use

Advanced-level

Ideal for: Senior seminars, capstone courses, or thesis classes, workshops on topics like job search strategies and transitioning to the workplace
