Skills Lab: Writing for an Elected Official & How to Draft a Policy Correspondence with Harris Weiss ’16Are you interested in breaking into the world of politics? Harris Weiss ‘16 studied political science at Binghamton University and he has since gained immense skills and experiences through his role as a caseworker, communications director, and most recently Southern Tier Regional Representative to Governor Kathy Hochul. This Skills Lab will focus on bridging strong writing skills and constituent relations with understanding the political landscape. What to expect:Develop research skills as you learn how to conduct basic NYS legislative policy research.Gain exposure to the different strategies to build a career in the world of politics.Learn how to draft correspondence from an elected official to a constituent.This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your resume by acquiring practical writing and research skills in the field of political communications.
