The Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) is a Washington, DC-based nonpartisan 501(c)(3) research institute focusing on national security and foreign policy. FDD conducts in-depth research, produces accurate and timely analyses, identifies illicit activities, and provides policy options – all with the aim of strengthening U.S. national security and reducing or eliminating threats posed by adversaries and enemies of the United States and other free nations.
FDD’s Congressional Fellowship Program provides national security professionals the opportunity to work for up to one year in a legislative role with a member of Congress or congressional committee on Capitol Hill. Participants will receive an outstanding educational experience that prepares them for future leadership roles inside or outside of government.
Eligibility
Applicants must have a bachelor’s or advanced degree in a related field (e.g. National Security Studies, International Relations, Political Science) and a minimum of two years of work experience. Candidates must also demonstrate a clear interest in legislative policy related to national security and international relations.
