GAI’s mission is to provide education and training about congressional processes, organization, culture and practices, and about select legislative policy issues. By better understanding the functions and organization of Congress, executive branch personnel and others with a direct interest in federal programs can more effectively plan, manage, and budget for those programs, and better represent those programs before Congress.
The Capitol Hill Fellowship Program is designed for executives and managers who require a high-level working knowledge of Congress. The program provides an unmatched opportunity for these personnel to immerse themselves in the daily operations, activities, discussions and decisions on Capitol Hill, gaining invaluable first-hand experience while offering congressional offices their unique perspective and expertise. The congressional fellowship may be used to fulfill requirements in certain management or executive development programs.
