Agarabi Engineering, a woman-owned engineering consultancy in NYC, is seeking 1-2 mechanical engineering interns with residency in New York State to assist with on-site work including the testing, commissioning, and energy auditing of client buildings, as well as research assistance for proposals, grants, state energy projects, and other related items. Occasional admin help will be requested when necessary, but we do not expect it to be a large part of the internship.
We specialize in the commissioning and energy assessment/management of schools, hospitals, museums, commercial, and residential spaces throughout the 5 boroughs. More information about who we are and what we do can be found on our website or LinkedIn page.
As a small team (1 principal and 1 junior engineer), interns will gain hands-on experience at the forefront of clean energy new builds and retrofits, learning directly from our engineers how to plan and implement real-world solutions to NYCs energy efficiency issues. They will learn the latest in clean energy projects being conducted throughout the city and what the state is doing to support it.
The ideal candidates will be junior or senior mechanical engineering majors who can commit to 20 hours per week throughout the school year, 40 hours per week during the summer, or a combination of the two. Our office is in DUMBO, but work is expected to be either remote or on-site due to COVID-related precautions. On-site visits will be subject to COVID screening and will require applicable PPE, which will be provided. Pay under the internship will be $17/hour.
Interested candidates can apply here and/or send their resumes and cover letters to info@agarabiengineering.com. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like further information regarding our firm. We look forward to hearing from you.
