Easy Event Planning LLC (EEP) offers fully virtual, flexible writing internships. We offer great experience for those majoring in the fields of creative writing, english and even journalism.
EEP is a technology company that is changing the way people plan events. We have the largest event vendor directory in the United States (more than 400k profiles) and game-changing technology that no one has (an instant chat feature, for example). We are now building incredible content. The site is poised to become very high-profile in coming years.
Students can write blog articles about a range of fun topics related to event planning:
· Theme party ideas
· Gender reveal parties
· Unique ways to propose
· Do-it-yourself party favors
· COVID-friendly gatherings
They can also write articles (unrelated to event planning) that are written to generate affiliate income so they have a chance to learn how to monetize their own blogs once the internship is finished.
We encourage students to even attempt some vlog articles if interested.
Some students will be promoted to editors.
All students can learn how to truly write an amazing blog article and all of the components that come together to make it successful – strong content, an engaged voice, graphics, search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing, content marketing and more.
This is a highly competitive position. We’re looking for serious-minded students who are looking to learn, take initiative and build their writing portfolio. You can work from home and create your own schedule. Most communication will take place via Zoom and Skype video, audio and text communication. There is a bi-monthly town hall with the CEO that all interns are invited to attend. This is currently an unpaid internship position.

FAQs:
Can I get credit for this internship?
Absolutely. Just let us know what paperwork your school requires and give us 7 days’ notice when evaluations must be submitted.
Who is managing you as an intern?
Ms. Kilmer, our CEO, is mentoring this group and providing all instruction personally. Students are put on teams to facilitate better communication. There is a weekly roundup meeting with all students so they can ask questions, brainstorm, give feedback and get advice/mentoring from Ms. Kilmer. She also meets with the team leaders every week and is available if any particular team needs more guidance.
How many hours do you require?
10 is really the minimum for you to learn, build contacts, create a portfolio, etc.
What hours can I work?
There is a lot of flexibility and you can work this around another internship or job. If you are working on vendor outreach you can contact vendors via email/social media from 7am-9pm your time. If you are calling them, you need to do that during regular business hours.
What do we look for in an intern?
We love working with students who really want to learn, take advantage of the incredible opportunity, contribute and advance to leadership roles.
What are the weekly requirements?
You must indicate which days/hours you plan to work for the following week and then record actual hours worked each work day, record your weekly accomplishments, attend at least one if not all three weekly meeting with your team, attend a weekly meeting with the CEO, track your weekly progress (how many vendors you contacted, how many set up a profile, how many blog articles you wrote, etc). We need all students to be highly responsive and proactive.
