Easy Event Planning LLC (EEP) is a technology company that is changing the way events are planned across the US. Users can find the services they need (we have the largest event directory in the US), use helpful planning tools and get great ideas from our blog – all in one site. They will soon be able to request tips for their own event at no charge as well. The site is poised to become very high-profile in coming years. We have a large data set of event businesses and will use a lead generator application to discover new businesses this summer. We need to automate the assignment of categories and sub-categories based on keywords in business names. We are looking for students with advanced Excel skills who can run formulas (to identify duplicates, count values in a cell, etc), append data, run scripts to make large-scale changes and more. We currently have over 400K records and will be looking to add another 200K or so. As a data set this large can tax a device, you would need to have a minimum of 16gb of ram and one of the latest processors to be able to do projects. You would need to have critical thinking skills, as we have to apply logic to optimize our directory and processes. We also have a small database of healthcare facilities that are included in our HonorAndThank.com initiative. This is a critical initiative much needed by our country to support healthcare workers putting their lives at risk to help the rest of us. Much work can be done to expand our directory but again requires someone very comfortable with advanced functions in Excel. This would be a tremendous internship for a resume. You could get extensive experience in data management and understand real-world applications for a state-of-the-art database. This is a 100% virtual (unpaid) internship and you have a great deal of flexibility on when you work. Communication will take place via Zoom, Skype video, audio and chat.
