The intern will work with fine artist Ivana George, to find and cultivate relationships with new audiences for her artworks through digital communications projects. The intern will gain training and practical experience in marketing and digital communications. The tools of these strategies include target audience research, blogging, video blogging, strategic organic social media, email campaigns, and advertising campaigns on social media. The student will be provided with educational content to build knowledge on these topics.

Due to the covid-19 pandemic this internship will be conducted remotely via video conference. Therefore applicants outside the geographic area (Massachusetts) where artist Ivana George resides will be considered. Student needs to be able to earn academic credit to participate in the internship. Hours are flexible between Tuesdays- Saturdays. The commitment is 9-20 hours per week depending on the credits being earned by the student and the educational requirements of the student’s educational institution.

Possible Learning Tasks:

Research Target Audiences

Write email campaigns

Assist with creating email automation sequences

Write and publish blog posts

Help develop strategy for social media

Help execute organic social media campaigns

Assist with setup of social media advertising campaigns

Use analytics tools to evaluate results of efforts and create reports

Help develop ideas for improvement of results

Qualifications

Seeking applicants with strong organizational skills, clear and concise writing skills, computer skills, familiarity with Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest social media platforms, and the ability to work independently with direction and mentorship of the supervisor. Knowledge of basic photo and video editing would be appreciated to help with the creation of social media content. Applicants within the eastern or central time zone will be preferred. Students with majors or minors in Public Relations, Marketing, Small Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Digital Communications, and Graphic Design will be preferred. Students with visual arts or film/video production majors who have relevant experience or course work in marketing, entrepreneurship or digital communications may also apply.
