P&G has established an Employee Health Test Center to ensure and maintain a healthy and safe work environment for employees as they return to the workplace during and post the Covid-19 pandemic. We are seeking an experience scientist and leader to successfully fill the role of General Supervisor of this virology laboratory. This role will provide day-to-day supervision of the laboratory operation and personnel performing RT-PCR testing and reporting of results. Important responsibilities include, but are not limited to, a) resolving technical problems in accordance with policies and procedures, b) providing day-to-day supervision of PCR testing personnel, c) monitoring test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure acceptable performance is maintained, d) assuring corrective and preventative actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from established performance specifications, e) providing annual evaluation and documentation of testing personnel performance, f) drafting and reviewing appropriate SOPs, g) training new analysts, h) overseeing general lab management, i) partnering closely with others to implement laboratory improvements, performance testing, qualifications and verifications, inspections, etc.
We are looking for someone with a Bachelor or Master degree in the field of biological or chemical laboratory science.
* Excellent hands-on, bench-top laboratory skills, including precision and accuracy, are a must.
* Experience with high complexity microbiology testing, such as Reverse Transcriptase-Polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and RNA extraction is required.
* Strong attention to detail is a must.
* An understanding and appreciation of regulatory & quality requirements is desired.
* GLP laboratory experience is preferred.
* Able to work a non-traditional work schedule, such as, four weekdays and Saturdays. The individual chosen for this role must be flexible to accommodate various work hours as needed.
