Senator John Brooks for NYS Senate District 8 is seeking interns to help serve the interests of his constituency. The primary responsibility of interns will be community outreach informing constituents of services and programs available to them. Interns will also be responsible for executing tasks specific to their experience and personal preferences, including assisting with policy research, communications, digital design, social media, fundraising, and community outreach. Applicants can apply directly through Handshake by submitting their resume. Hours are flexible, with the strongest applicants being available at least 10-15 hours a week. All interns will work remotely for the duration of the Coronavirus crisis.
NOTE: This internship will operate through the political organization affiliated with Senator Brooks (Friends of John Brooks), not the Senator’s government office. John Brooks is not up for reelection in 2021, but this program will be overseen by his non-government political staff.
Students should consult with academic faculty to determine if this unpaid experience will earn credit.
