About the positions available:
The incumbent will join a multi-disciplinary team comprised of CRREL, ERDC, other government agencies, industry, universities, and other non-federal laboratories conducting pavements and materials RDTE for a wide variety of US Army Corps of Engineers civil works and Department of Defense applications. The initial focus of this position will be to join engineers (civil, pavements, materials) and technicians on an exciting military engineering program where you can focus on any of the following areas:
o AI Chips for Smart Decisions (supporting wide range of DOD and Federal customers: logistics / distribution, cybersecurity, biology-based environmental sensing, wastewater treatment, other);
o Finite Element Modeling (military pavements and airfields /runways design and evaluation, other; need competencies in mechanics of materials, thermal modeling etc);
o Mobility and robotics (autonomous / partially autonomous convoys; unmanned vehicle navigation in cold regions, drones and UGVs for logistics; other)
o other materials, robotics, or CS applications (novel energy generation / harvesting, materials testing & evaluation, bio-materials, other; need advanced materials eng/ sci competencies)

Any interested engineer or computer scientist should have completed (or in progress / completion soon) requirements for a BS/MS/MEng or PhD. Will use experience in one or more topics to develop competitive project proposals with current customers over time as well as project spinoff opportunities.
