Astronomy Club

Group type: Student Association Organizations

The purpose of our club is make astronomy more accessible to the students at Binghamton University.

We will provide members with an opportunity to learn more about astronomy, as well as gain hands on experience with telescopes. Several different kinds of on campus events will be held throughout the year. Examples of such events include “sidewalk astronomy” events, creative competitions, and movie nights. Our club also plans to give students many opportunities to perform community service, such as volunteering at local science organizations like Kopernik Observatory and the Roberson Science Museum and Planetarium. These learning opportunities will allow members to pursue their interest in the subject of astronomy. We are hopeful that in the future this club will have a large presence on campus, where both on campus events and volunteer work are performed regularly.
