Our vision is to see lives of students and faculty transformed, the campus of Binghamton University renewed, and world changers developed by the love of Jesus Christ.
The Purpose of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA is to establish and advance at colleges and universities witnessing communities of students and faculty who follow Jesus as Savior and Lord: growing in love for God, God’s Word, God’s people of every ethnicity and culture and God’s purposes in the world.
Our long term goals include developing a dynamic and committed community of 100 strong members (not counting crowds or occasional visitors), comprised of both followers of Jesus and students that are curious, seeking to deepen their spiritual growth and their love for those around them. We aim to reach this goal through vibrant New Student Outreach efforts each semester in which we hope to engage with at least 700 students in over the first two weeks of each semester, as well as a yearly outreach event meant to attract newcomers. We also hope to build the strength of this community through opportunities to serve and lead in one of our fellowship’s 8 ministry-teams, ranging from social media to prayer and social justice.
More immediately, our goals involve:
1. Expanding our recently launched South Asian Ministry to reach the South Asian students on campus with relevant discussions of faith, following our organization’s mission of reaching God’s people of every ethnicity and culture
2. Maintaining the presence of small groups in each living community on campus, which provide comprehensive spiritual support as peers living in close proximity
3. Establishing more spaces where members, visitors, and friends can work together and build community outside of more intentional meetings for ministry planning and events
