Professional Associations

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is the largest professional organization for social workers in the United States. The association provides resources to support social work education, professional development, advocacy, ethics, licensure preparation, and career advancement. NASW also offers access to continuing education opportunities, industry news, practice resources, networking opportunities, and a job board featuring social work and human services positions.

Who should use this resource:

Students, recent graduates, and professionals pursuing careers in social work or related human services fields. This resource is especially useful for individuals seeking information about the profession, exploring career opportunities, preparing for licensure, building professional networks, or staying informed about current issues affecting social work practice.

Why it’s helpful:

NASW serves as a central resource for professional development and career exploration within the social work field. It helps users better understand industry standards, ethical practices, and career pathways while providing access to job opportunities, educational resources, and professional connections. The association’s resources can support students throughout their academic journey and as they transition into professional practice.
