Course: WRIT 332, Write Your Art
Dr. Minjeong Kim taught two sections of Write Your Art, a course that was cross-listed with Writing, Music, Cinema, and Theatre. The course is centered around helping students identify their artistic identity and helping them develop an artist portfolio. In collaboration with the Fleishman Career Center, Dr. Kim integrated career education in the course to help students understand how to communicate their experiences via resume and a 30-second commercial. To support this goal, the Fleishman Career Center visited the two sections twice, once highlighting key tools and resources for students and the other to dive deeper into how students write about their experience through their resumes. The class also covered Mentor Match, and the Fleishman Career Center provided a 30-second commercial video that incorporated ways for students to pitch their artwork. A total of 50 students participated in this course.
