Binghamton University Transfer Student Mentor Program

Transfer Mentor Program is a peer mentoring program offered through Binghamton University’s Transfer Student Success office that helps new and returning transfer students successfully transition to campus. Each new transfer student is paired with a peer mentor who has also transferred to Binghamton and can provide guidance, answer questions, and connect students with campus resources throughout their first semester and beyond. Students can also schedule one-on-one appointments with transfer mentors for individualized support.

Who should use this resource:
New and returning transfer students at Binghamton University who are looking for guidance as they transition to campus. This resource is especially valuable for students with questions about academics, campus involvement, navigating university resources, or adjusting to life at Binghamton.

Why it’s helpful:
Starting at a new university can be both exciting and challenging. The Transfer Mentor Program connects students with peers who have successfully navigated the transfer experience and can offer practical advice, encouragement, and support. Building a relationship with a transfer mentor can help students become more familiar with campus resources, develop a sense of belonging, and feel more confident as they establish academic, social, and professional connections at Binghamton.
