BU Students – Become a NYS Certified Teacher!

Binghamton University’s department of Teaching, Learning and Educational Leadership provides the information and education required to become a certified teacher in New York State, which can qualify you for certification in other states through reciprocity agreements.

Our Pre-Service Programs are for students who do not yet have any certification to teach. Our In-Service Programs are for students who already hold teacher certification. Read about the programs that interest you to learn if you are qualified to apply.
