Higher Education Immigration Portal-Legal Pathways That Work

This comprehensive resource hub, a project of the Legal Pathways that Work initiative, offers a suite of resources, trainings, and other tools to support access to employment-based visas and careers in the U.S. post graduation for non-citizen students and graduates, including Dreamers with and without DACA.

The Presidentsʼ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration launched the Legal Pathways that Work (LPTW)
initiative in 2024, which aims to increase access to employment-based immigration pathways for college and
university students in temporary or precarious immigration statuses. Every year, talented noncitizen students
graduate from U.S. institutions looking to apply their skills in high-need sectors, including education, healthcare, and
STEM, among others. However, colleges and universities are not always prepared to support these students to pursue
the employment-based immigration options that may be available to them. The LPTW initiative addresses this need
through a multi-pronged approach serving students, campuses, and employers.
