Boog Internship Fund

Established in 2018, this internship fund sponsors talented undergraduate students who are completing unpaid or paid summer internships. This fund offers $15,000 total to distribute to 1–2 students, which can defray the additional costs associated with participating in an internship! Funding can be used for stipends, housing, tuition, and/or travel.

The application for this fund is at the bottom of this page. Please read all fund information carefully before applying. If you do not see an application, it means you are not logged into this site. Who is Eligible?

Currently matriculated Binghamton University undergraduate students completing an unpaid or paid full- or part-time summer internship may apply. Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Undergraduate students with at least a sophomore standing (graduating seniors not eligible)
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Demonstrated financial need and current Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file at the office of Financial Aid and Student Records and/or a completed NYS State Aid Application
  • Have an SSN (Social Security Number) or ITIN (Individual Tax Identification Number)
  • Received an internship offer (note that this fund does not support research or creative work).

Priority will be given to students who have not previously received support through the Boog Internship Fund and those with financial needs who may not otherwise be able to complete an internship.

How does the internship fund work?

  1. Once you are awarded funding, you must complete a form and a W-9 and send them to intefund@binghamton.edu
  2. We contact your supervisor the week you start your internship and they verify that you started.
  3. We then start to process your check and you should receive it in a couple weeks.
  4. During your internship, you will provide a written monthly summary to the Fleishman Center for the fund sponsors of work being performed and/or how the funds are being utilized.
  5. Toward the end of your internship, we ask you to send us a thank you note for fund sponsors and a picture of you at your internship.
  6. Please note that the Fleishman Career Center manages 6 internship funds. Students who apply for the Boog fund but are not selected will be automatically considered for any other funds that they qualify for. You may also apply directly to other funds. Visit our website for the list of other funds and their requirements.
