About Amber

As the Healthcare and Science Industry Specialist, Amber brings over five years of experience in healthcare from her tenure as Community Relations Specialist at Fidelis Care. Amber helps connect the exceptional students at Binghamton University to meaningful opportunities in the healthcare and science industries with her experience and skills in account management, networking, event planning, and innovative communication and outreach strategies.

Throughout her career, Amber has witnessed how professional experiences can spark transformative changes in someone’s professional journey. In this role, she builds and grows strong partnerships between industry employers and our talented student community. Amber is driven by a mission to bridge talent and opportunity by creating valuable pathways that benefit both students and businesses in these dynamic fields.

What is your favorite thing about working at Binghamton University?
The collaborative spirit here is incredible, and the energy and enthusiasm that the students bring is contagious. I love being part of the Fleishman Center Team, who are all so committed to helping students discover their potential, develop their skills, and prepare for impactful careers. Seeing students grow and achieve their dreams is incredibly rewarding.

What was your first internship or job?
My first job was a cashier at a local grocery store, but most of my early work history was in the service industry. I worked my way from a host, to server, to bartender, to manager throughout undergrad locally while attending SUNY Broome and at the University of Rhode Island. I have since hung up my service industry non-slip shoes.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about helping the community through advocacy for access to food, transportation, housing, employment and other Social Determinant of Health (SDoH) needs. My career path has been deeply rooted in community connection. I have developed an ability to connect with diverse populations, advocating for their health benefits and understanding their unique needs. Growing up locally has given me unique insights into the community’s challenges and opportunities.

I also enjoy baking, gardening, and staying active.

What is your best piece of career or professional advice?
Build genuine relationships, not just networks. Networking isn’t about collecting business cards or LinkedIn connections—it’s about creating meaningful, authentic professional relationships. Focus on how you can add value to others, be genuinely interested in their goals and challenges, and approach every interaction with authenticity and generosity. The most powerful professional opportunities often come from relationships built on mutual respect and genuine connection.

About Felicia

As Associate Director of Employer Engagement at Binghamton University’s Fleishman Career Center, Felicia leads efforts to grow and strengthen employer relationships, expand internship and job opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students, and create meaningful pathways for organizations and alumni to engage with campus.

A proud dual alumna of Binghamton University, Felicia earned her BA in Economics (’01) and MA in Student Affairs Administration (’02). During her time as a student-athlete on the varsity softball team, she learned the value of teamwork, perseverance, and community. All lessons that continue to shape her approach to leadership and collaboration today.

Felicia is passionate about giving back to the university that shaped her journey and currently serves as President of the Binghamton University Alumni Association Board of Directors. In this role, she works to leverage connections between campus and the alumni community, fostering collaboration that enhances the student experience and strengthens Bearcat pride worldwide.

What is your favorite thing about working at Binghamton University?
The energy — it’s contagious! It comes from the students, the staff, and the sense of purpose that fills campus when classes are in session. Amazing things happen here, in the classrooms and on the fields, every single day.

What was your first internship or job?
My first job was as a sales associate at The GAP in the Oakdale Mall (now Oakdale Commons). It taught me early on about teamwork, communication, and connecting with people; skills I use every day.

What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about helping students make connections that shape their next steps after graduation. I love being the connector and bringing people, opportunities, and ideas together in ways that make things click. I’m equally passionate about my role as an alumna, serving as President of the Alumni Association Board and creating meaningful bridges between alumni and campus.

What is your best piece of career or professional advice?
Say yes to opportunities: walk through that door, answer that email, apply for that internship. Every experience builds your skill set and your confidence. And never underestimate the power of your network; the relationships you build will be your greatest professional resource. I think Maya Angelou captured it best: “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

About Matt

As the Technology and Data Analytics Industry Specialist, Matt develops strategic employer partnerships to expand internship and job opportunities for students pursuing careers in emerging technologies, data-driven roles, and innovation-focused fields. A two-time graduate of Binghamton University, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Marketing and Management Information Systems, as well as a Master of Business Administration.

Prior to joining the Fleishman Career Center, Matt supported Binghamton University students in the School of Management and the Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science through career development and employer engagement roles. In his current role, he supports students interested in technology and data careers across campus and actively engages with employers to create recruiting and experiential learning pipelines.

What is your favorite thing about working at Binghamton University?
I love working with students and seeing them grow and succeed. Helping them build skills and find opportunities makes the job truly rewarding.

What was your first internship or job?
In high school, I ran a small lawn mowing business, which taught me a lot about hard work, drive, and initiative. In college, I completed internships with Binghamton University Athletics as a Sports Marketing Intern and ESPN Production Intern, which helped me develop a passion for connecting with people and creating meaningful experiences.

What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about connecting students and employers to create lasting relationships that help everyone achieve their goals. Outside of work, I love working out, watching football, going to concerts, and investing.

What is your best piece of career or professional advice?
Lead with kindness, and good things follow. Treat people well, and you’ll build real connections that make life more fulfilling—for you and those around you.

About Meghan

What is your favorite thing about working at Binghamton University?
Supporting students and making a meaningful difference in their professional lives. As a Binghamton alumna, I was fortunate to receive guidance from Fleishman Career Center professionals who shaped my journey and helped me navigate my career path. Now, being able to pay it forward by providing the same support and encouragement to current students is the most fulfilling part of my role.

What was your first internship or job?
My first job was scooping ice cream when I was in high school. My first internship was at a digital marketing agency where I helped local businesses establish and grow their online presence while occasionally appearing in TV commercials and acting as a hand model.

What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about helping others and making an impact wherever I can.

What is your best piece of career or professional advice?
Lead with empathy and integrity and treat everyone with kindness and respect, regardless of their position or role. The connections you build today can shape opportunities tomorrow, as people often remember how you made them feel more than what you accomplished. Cultivating a professional network grounded in genuine relationships and mutual respect is one of the most valuable assets you can bring to your career journey.

About Morgan

As the Government & Not-for-Profit Industry Specialist, Morgan supports Binghamton students’ career success by harnessing and integrating the knowledge employers (especially regional employers) and alumni can provide to students. Her role is to support the regional/state economic development initiative by enhancing employer connections and workforce development needs through skill-building programs, overall placement rates, and internship rates with a focus on government and nonprofit industries.

Morgan graduated with a degree in English Literature and continued to serve residents of local long-term care facilities. She worked in and with various nonprofit organizations as a NYS Certified Long-Term Care Ombudsman, a member of Volunteer Administrators of the Southern Tier (VAST), and as the Talent Initiatives and Special Projects Manager at the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce. She has met and connected with various government entities and officials along the way. She is dedicated to leveraging her expertise in talent development to drive impactful initiatives that foster inclusivity, diversity, and social change to create opportunities for the students of Binghamton University and the community.

What is your favorite thing about working at Binghamton University?
Being a part of the learning experience for all students of Binghamton University. We have an opportunity here to uplift students who will make meaningful careers and impact the community.

What was your first internship or job?
Delivering the newspaper, babysitting, and organizing my very busy college-aged sibling’s vehicle, were some of my first paid jobs. Working in dietary at a long-term care facility was the first of my more professional experiences.

What are you passionate about?
Family, community, and all things nerdy.

What is your best piece of career or professional advice?

Learn your mission, lead others’ impact, and cut through imposter syndrome. Every type of business, organization, or government’s premise is serving people and improving their lives, whether through technology, art, service, education, etc. Learn how you’d like to make a difference, and help uplift others to grow and lead with you. Finally, know that you’re meant to be in these spaces, your voice is meant to be heard, and that you have value to share.
