So my name is Seth Shackter. I am an analyst at Desi BioConsulting. Desi Bio is a boutique firm meaning that we're specialized in a specific area. That area is life sciences. So the majority of our work focuses around diagnostics so the easiest example that I usually give is it's not the pharmaceuticals or the drugs that patients receive, but it's the tests in order to tell what drug they should receive for their treatments. So, actually, we're more focused on the business side of it. So even though that's what we're focused on, usually the questions are more things to the effect of, what is the market size or what is the next country that we should go into or how should we modify our strategy in this company in order to increase our market share. I think, ultimately, the most important part of the mission statement is to support the team. You're the person where generally an analyst is someone, when you're on a case, you're the one who is 100% allocated to it. So you're the one who's really in the weeds. You're doing the primary and the secondary research so that can take the form of interviewing key opinion leaders and other people who are really on the cutting edge of the field, as well as actually going through guidelines, regulations, and other factors like that. So, I guess, your mission is to ultimately be able to communicate to the senior level team members what they need to know in a concise manner so that then they can deliver it to the client. So, I would split the analyst's role into kind of four different sections. When people ask what is a regular day like, you're never gonna really have a typical day but you'll have typical tasks. So the first one, I would say, is sourcing. So that's actually locating those key opinion leaders and reaching out to them saying, hey, we're interested in speaking to you, are you available? The next one would be conducting the actual interviews with them. At our job and throughout a case, we'll have an interview guide so we ask everyone the same standardized questions to make sure we can then aggregate the data at the end. The third phase would be data analysis. So once you've gotten a couple interviews under your belt, actually taking a step back and saying, alright, well, now what does this all mean. And then, finally, the last part would be the actual synthesis which would be the development of the presentation and taking all of the data and converting it into a Power Point presentation that the client can then show to everyone else.
