Equity Talks: The Evolution of the Civil Rights Movement
Thursday, March 18 from 6 – 7 pm
In 1954, Brown v. Board of Education declared segregated schools unconstitutional. Three years later, nine African American students entered the halls of Little Rock Central High School and made history. They became the Little Rock Nine. Today, our nation still finds itself deeply entrenched in a movement for racial justice. In this one hour event, including live Q&A, you’ll hear from civil rights leader Minnijean Brown-Trickey, a member of the Little Rock Nine hosted by Clint Smith, author and current leader in the movement for racial justice, as they discuss their experiences in the ever-present movement for equity, hopes for the future of our nation, and actions for equity-minded leaders to take to show up in our current civil rights movement.
