Position: Human Resources Administrator/Mgr.
Reports to: Director of Human Resources
Job Overview:
The Human Resources Manager will be a superstar supporting the overall human resources functions for the Barriere Fouquet’s Hotel. This includes, but not limited to, payroll expertise, recruitment and selection, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and compliance and knowledge with all applicable New York City and New York State labor laws and regulations.
•Complete weekly payroll for all new hires, termination, deductions, special pays etc. before deadline for all employees. Must be detailed oriented and have at least 12 prior experience with a payroll platform (ADP,
• Manage the recruitment and selection process for all hotel positions, including job postings, candidate screening, and interviewing.
• Assist in the performance management process, by working with Dept. Heads to oversee the 30 and 90-day review process for hourly employees
• Assist in employee relations, including taking the initial report of employees disciplinary and conflicts brought to human resources
• Manage and ensure accuracy in enrollment for all benefits programs, to include medical, dental, life insurance, 401k, PFL, FMLA, and Disability.
* Conduct onboarding first day and employee orientation for all Fouquet’s employees including setting up of meals, lockers and other information pertaining to the hotel.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations, and stay up-to-date with any changes in regulations that may affect the hotel’s HR policies and procedures
• Maintain accurate and complete employee records, including personnel files and HR databases for the hotel and home office
* Responsible for the effective operations of all Employee and Culture activities to support management of the employee lifecycle
• Assist in developing and implement HR policies and procedures that align with the hotel’s strategic goals and objectives.
Own the process of all Employee Relations Events and engagement programs initiated via Human Resources
• Provide HR support and guidance to Dept. Heads and Supervisors on HR-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Previous hotel experience preferred with full service hotel
- At least 4 – 5 years of progressive Human Resources Manager experience in a hotel or a related industry required; Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred but not required
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience with Workforce Now ADP and/or other HRIS software preferred.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality when dealing with guest/employee information and sensitive matters
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, EEO, and OSHA.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
- Familiarity with and knowledge of employment/labor laws required.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
