The Marketing and Community Content Coordinator VISTA will analyze current best practices and trends in nonprofit marketing and social media to increase engagement and improve public knowledge about The Salvation Army. Together with our Marketing and Communications Manager, you will show the community the many ways that they can engage with The Salvation Army, whether they need service themselves or want to volunteer or donate. Perfect for those interested in marketing, communications, social media, or public relations. The Salvation Army is in 130+ countries and has representation in every zip code of the United States. Our mission is to serve all in need, without discrimination. In the DC Metro Area, we serve an average of 70,000 people a year through housing for young mothers, meal programs, youth and music activities, substance abuse treatment, rent and utility assistance, and more. We value programs that help expand personal and professional horizons, such as our internship program and AmeriCorps VISTA.
Member Duties : -1- Analyze marketing strategy and review which holiday media buys and dollars spent were most beneficial, compare with other successful nonprofit organizations, and engage in detailed social media strategic planning and management -2- Educate the public about The Salvation Army’s many services throughout the community to: (a) be first in mind for those in need, (b) grow volunteer interest by showcasing different volunteer opportunities, and (c) increase donations through an awareness campaign, including how money is used, who already donates and why, and ways to donate -3- Develop and begin program monitoring, evaluation, and updates to plan for long-term public relations.
