Swiderski Equipment, one of Wisconsin’s premier and long-established agriculture and construction equipment dealerships, is seeking two full-time Staff Accountants to work out of our Wausau location The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records and procedures within the store. Primary responsibilities include monitoring, analyzing, and completing settlements, processing A/P & A/R, and ensuring the monthly close process is completed in a timely, accurate manner. What You’ll Do:
- Settle equipment sales with manufacturers and ensure all discounts, bonuses, programs and promotions are properly processed to settle sales deals.
- Process and pay accounts payable in a timely manner.
- Review and claim all reasonable discounts on accounts payable.
- Issue invoices to customers and ensures that accounts receivables are collected promptly.
- Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed.
- Coordinate month and year-end closing activities to close financial records in an accurate, timely manner.
- Prepare and issue financial statements.
- Prepare and submit all monthly, quarterly and annual government reports.
- Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis.
- Maintain the chart of accounts.
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system and a system of controls over accounting transactions.
- Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit.
- Collect sales taxes from customers and remit them to the government.
- Process payroll in a timely manner and work with Human Resources staff to ensure benefit plan enrollments are properly processed and deductions are correctly made.
- Work with management to develop and maintain a fiscal budget.

- Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously accurately and timely, while working in a deadline-driven, fast-paced work environment
- The individual will be expected to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of his / her work product. The individual will work closely with all major functional leaders of the Company.
- Must possess a professional, friendly demeanor with the ability to oversee and manage projects and people
- Highly proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Minimum of an Associate’s degree in accounting or related field; or equivalent business experience of 5-7 years in accounting with in-depth knowledge of accounting principles. Agricultural background is a plus but not required.
