Fleishman Career Success Initiative
The Fleishman Career Success Initiative was developed in 2021 as a new way to support those students that face the significant barriers to participating in summer internships. This fund assists students not only through monetary aid, but also by supporting their career and professional development. Students that meet the fund criteria will be awarded a minimum of $2,000 in financial support.
The application for this fund is at the bottom of this page. Please read all fund information carefully before applying. If you do not see an application, it means you are not logged into this site. Click the “log in” button on the top right of this screen and sign in using your Binghamton credentials.
Who is eligible?
Currently matriculated Binghamton University undergraduate students who have been offered an unpaid or paid, full- or part-time, remote or in-person summer internship (cannot intern for a family member). You must meet all of the following criteria:
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
- Demonstrated financial need of $0-$1,000 Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as determined based on your current Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file at the office of Financial Aid and Student Records.

Students that submit all application materials but do not meet this criteria will not be awarded funds. There are several other funding opportunities students can apply for through the Fleishman Center.
- Graduating seniors are eligible to apply for funding through the Fleishman Career Success Initiative for a post-graduate summer internship.

How the Fleishman Success Initiative Works
1. Once you are awarded a scholarship, you must complete a form and a W-9 and send them to intefund@binghamton.edu
2. We contact your supervisor the week you start your internship and they verify that you started.
3. We then start to process your check and you should receive it in a couple weeks.
4. Toward the end of your internship, a staff member will request a thank you note for fund sponsors and a picture of you at your internship.
