Careers in Public Service & International Affairs Resources for Americans with Disabilities
Schedule A hiring authority makes it easier for U.S. federal agencies to hire individuals with disabilities.
Individuals with a disability may apply “non-competitively” to job announcements, which means they can be first in line for consideration for a job. (Of course, they must first qualify for the job.) Given intense competition for federal jobs, individuals with disabilities should consider taking advantage of Schedule A when applying to civil service positions.
