Every semester the Fleishman Center works with ISSS, the International Student Association, Watson Career and Alumni Connections, and the School of Management Career Services to offer career-related programs specifically for international students. Register in advance for each session you’re interested in attending!

Tuesday, September 1 at Noon
Networking and Communicating with Employers at the Job and Internship Fair
This session will review the skills you must demonstrate to employers at the fair as well as the expectations of those employers. This workshop will build your confidence, create a positive first impression, help you bond with recruiters, employers, and most of all, make them remember you. We will review and practice strategies that can be used to enhance your networking at the Job and Internship Fair, including the 30-second pitch.

Wednesday, September 2 at Noon
How to get your CPT ASAP
Curricular Practical Training (CPT) is an off-campus employment authorization for international students in F-1 status. It allows students to do an internship, or have other temporary employment, for experience that is directly related to their program of study. Come to this workshop to learn the regulations governing CPT and when it can be used. You will also learn what you need to do to submit a successful application! This workshop will be led by an advisor from International Student and Scholar Services.

reating a US-Style Resume
In this program you will learn the necessary components of a strong US-style resume for students in all majors, as well as technical and engineering-related career paths. Topics to be covered include formatting, appropriate resume section headings, the concept of using action verbs to highlight skills, and common differences between US documents and other countries’ resume/CV.
